Had a look down by the bridge near Strutts Mill, river looked fantastic this morning, with lots of sand and gravel on show, anyone fished this for Barbel/Chub?

It certainly looks like it holds a few, I might get a club ticket also wondered about the small lake down Wyver lane.

Any info appreciated not interested in weights just if it holds them.

I fish to just upriver of there on occasions, prior to that and many years ago I fished slightly further upriver on the Matlock DAA book and if there's one piece of advice I could give you it's don't feed unless you want to get plagued by suicidal brownies.

I would fish a big bait in a likely spot, maybe be prepared to move around a bit if you're not on the fish but if you feed you won't get a minute's peace for the rest of the day.
