Brilliant story,I would love to have a go. The grayling that used to be in the Chess local to me are sadly all but gone, but are they? I haven't tried for a good few years, maybe I should?

I had never caught a Grayling until last season, then after some really useful gen from a couple of FM members, I decided to give it a go on the Test. I must say it was for me one of the highlights of last season.

That trip and another for Crucian carp at Marsh Farm were among the best trips I have had in recent seasons. Thanks chaps.

What a terrific write-up of what must have been a great day for all.

Those Test Grayling know a thing or two about shedding a hook, don't they?

I really enjoyed reading the story of your day, thanks for sharing it.

Thanks for your comments Peter. Big grayling (and for that matter big roach) can be particularly cruel when close to the net. They can leave you with a sense of loss like no other fish ... All the best, Dave

A great day indeed - a real Grayling Grin day, to coin your splendid phrase Dave, despite the horrendous weather. Marvellous to see the pictures again - Gary
