This is one of a whole bunch of short stories, written years ago as you can probably tell (smoking in pubs? surely not!) - I'll probably never get around to publishing them now so I'll feed a few of them into the articles over the next few months.

Geoff: Only just got around to reading the entirety of your substantial story...it's truly great. As a rule, accounts of fighting a big fish soon become a bit hackneyed and predictable, but yours was genuinely exciting...excellent!
