I have caught thousands of trout both brown & rainbow in South Africa & UK on this pattern:
Try it:
Hook: 14 to 8 Kamasan traditional
Silk: Olive green
Body: Olive Ostrich Herl wound in touching turns
Tail; Olive rabbits fur cut from zonker strip about as long as hook shank.
Rib: Oval gold tinsel
Hackle 21/2 turns of brown partridge hackle wound in at head and then tied down to slant back.
Try it with a floating line an very slow fig of 8 retreive.
