Thomas Turner are pleased to announce a change in our Terms and Conditions to formalise our policy of providing a ‘no quibble’ 12 month warranty on pre-owned rods purchased from us. In addition to covering manufacturing defects, we are also adding the bonus of covering accidental damage. So, if you catch the tip in your car electric windows (I have done it!) we will still support you subject to the conditions below.
As it happens there has never been a better time to buy a rod from us with the 150 Thomas and Thomas rods and blanks currently listed. Many have the original manufacturer’s warranty but if not the Thomas Turner Rod Warranty kicks in.
The full terms and conditions are set out below.
“In the event of breakage Thomas Turner will repair, replace or make a refund of the purchase price (at their option) of any rod purchased from Thomas Turner for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. This includes accidental breakage in use.

“In the event of breakage Thomas Turner will repair, replace or make a refund of the purchase price (at their option) of any rod purchased from Thomas Turner for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. This includes accidental breakage in use.
- The Warranty only applies to the original purchaser and is in addition to the buyer’s statutory rights.
- The Warranty does not include intentional breaks, ordinary wear and tear, neglect or lost sections. (However, we will make every effort to assist in those circumstances.)
- The customer is responsible for the cost of carriage and insurance of the rod to Thomas Turner. Thomas Turner will pay the return dispatch and insurance costs.
- This Warranty does not cover direct or indirect consequential, incidental or any other type of damage resulting from the use of the product.
- In the majority of cases there will be no handling charge, but we reserve the right to charge in exceptional circumstances where for example rods have to be returned to the USA for repair. These will be in line with the charges made by the respective manufacturers.
- With regard to purchases made via our eBay store a handling charge will apply in view of the extra costs of trading on that platform.”
