On a fine, sunny, clear morning we made our way through the valleys passing Hereford and onto Winforton. What a lovely drive it was too. Our first time to this great location. We walked through the main doors to be to be greeted by a nice smiley face – Danny North who Manages Sport fish at Winforton. What a cracking venue, a very large open plan ground floor area with a very large array of Hardy, Sage and Orvis rods, reels, tackle and clothing.
William, our son was straight to the fly rods testing them out. Danny and the team had kindly put some tables and chairs out for us next to the Hardy cabinet. Ideal position for me continually glancing at the brand new Cascapdia in various sizes! One for the Christmas list!
We kicked off well with our first customer, a chap who had driven down from Preston! After a quick trip to the car park, myself and William helped him in with some lovely Sage and Orvis rods and some Hardy fly reels. A quick once over of all the tackle, a deal was agreed and money paid into the clients account. First deal done!
The morning carried on like this with a steady footfall of people coming into Sportfish, some to peruse the tackle available and others bringing in various tackle to be appraised by Thomas Turner.
Some of the tackle purchased is in the photos below have been listed on the Thomas Turner website, so click here to view our latest listings!
To ensure that we would be invited back to this fantastic venue, Dave also grabbed the Henry and we cleared up after ourselves!
A big Thank you to Danny and his team who looked after us all day and we look forward to returning next year.
If you have missed our valuation days but have tackle to sell, don’t worry, we have various options for remote selling available to us, so please do get in touch with us!
