Upper Severn

Hi Guys,

Upper Severn at Shrewsbury was fishing quite well for Barbel last week (water temps then 8C) but now hard going as water temp dropped to 5C today (Sunday) - level dropped by 2ft too, which can only be good thing. Still the colour of a chocolate milkshake but deffo looking better than it did - well it couldnt have been worse

Weather forecast is to go a bit milder during this week so fingers crossed for last few days of the season.

Update to River Severn,

Now fishing quite well, a friend of mine had nine barbel earlier in the week. Temp slowly recovering and colour dropping out. Looks all set to be a bumper last week of the season.

Water temps yesterday (Friday) now up by a degree to 8.2C. No barbel reported only big chub.

do you know of any catches on the severn around the coalport area
more to the point at the bridge inn stretch as I will be up around august

have you fished any further up than that mate? poo quay or welshpool that way?
