Four Flies for the Press Manor Fish-in
These were very successful for me last year – missed loads of fish in the morning session and went onto nymphs in the afternoon.
Hopefully you’ll have a chance to tie them before this years fish-In.
Recipes as follows
Damsel (No1.)
- Hook: Longshank Size 10
- Underbody: Lead wire
- Silk: Olive
- Tail & Body: Olive Marabou3 or 4 strands of pearl krystalflash
- Rib: Fine Gold oval tinsel
- Thorax: Lime Chenille
- Hackle: Partridge dyed yellow
Cat’s Whisker
- Hook: Longshank Size 10 with Goldhead
- Underbody: Lead wire
- Silk: White
- Tail: White Marabou, 3 or 4 strands silver flashabou
- Body: Lime chenille (with pearl bits in)
Diawl Bach (See Andy Wright’s Pattern)
I use red silk and a gold rib
Black Buzzer
- Hook: Size 12 Buzzer/grub Kamasan B110
- Silk and body: Black
- Rib: Fine silver wire
- Thorax: Peacock herl
- You can add optional white Antron breathers, but I don’t bother.
