Designed for the pike and specialist angler alike, the ‘Frontrunner’ includes a deep slot to provide friction-free line movement whilst ensuring the rod remains firmly seated, even in windy conditions. The ‘soft touch’ rubber inlay ensures the rod does not slide, even when set at an acute angle. Featuring a stainless steel stud and a betalight slot for easy location during the night.

I like this rod rest head, so much I’ve bought two! My mate has bought four, but then he would. I’m bad enough with something that takes my fancy, but he beats me hands down.

I’ve bought mine for river fishing; it’s great for gripping the rod at any angle and being kind to the rod at the same time with the soft touch rubber inlays. The stainless steel stud is much better than the cheaper, plastic versions that you soon cross-thread and ruin in no time when they become too loose.

I won’t bother with the betalight slot for I don’t have a problem locating the head in the dark.

My mate will though, ‘cos he loves anything like that. He’d have one each side if there was a slot for one each side, to save him turning it round.

It’s not a cheap piece of kit, but the quality is reflected in the price.
