Steven Gillham from Bowburn, Durham fished his local River Wear to make an excellent catch of dace. He fished a free stretch and used a Fox 15ft float rod, Browning Ultimatch reel, 2.6 Bayer main line and a 1.5 Maxima hook length. Hook was an 18s and the float a bolo shotted with an Olivette and three droppers.
“The river was still carrying a bit of water but had dropped quite a lot from the previous day. I was fishing in a depth of about 11-12ft.” Steven said, and added, “all fish were caught using double bronze maggot and feeding hemp and maggot. |
