Following weeks of bad news about foot-and-mouth disease the EAbring a breath of fresh air with the news that the majority of ourrivers will be open on 16th June.
There will be no blanket ban like there was for stillwaters whenthe disease first hit. Whether or not your favourite river opens atthe beginning of the season will be at the discretion of the farmerand/or controlling club and if there are restrictions still inplace, which could be no more than a disinfectant dip.
EA fisheries chief Dr David Clarke said, ‘there is no reason whyanglers can’t fish their favourite waters if they follow theguidelines put in place.”
