Fishing Horton’s Boat Pool, top rod Leroy Wyant has done it again and equalled the venue catfish record with this superb specimen of 42lb 5oz. Leroy fished a trout livebait just under the surface to tempt the fish.
Sub-surface livebaits are accounting for the majority of cats from the Boat pool this season with very little falling to any other form of bait or presentation.
Also on the catfish trail was RMC Angling’s Assistant Angling Manager Viv Shears who landed his first ever catfish in the shape of this specimen of 31lb 12oz, which was landed on Leroy’s rods as he minded them whilst Leroy was in the shower.
Viv had put in a dozen or so nights without a take on his own rods.
