Arlingham, Gloucester angler John Claridge came within ounces of breaking the RMC Angling bream record this week with a monster slab of 14lb 6oz from the Car Park Lake at Nutrabaits Yateley.

John, captor of Chunky at a new top weight of 42lb 6oz from the venue earlier this season fished the Bars swim on the west bank of the lake to take the fish which is just 2oz off the RMC best which was recorded from Ryemeads in 1998.
