The Tyne Rivers Trust has become well-established over the last eight years. The Trust wishes to progress its agreed catchment plan and continue to expand on an ambitious programme of science-led project delivery, including habitat improvements, catchment restoration, volunteering, education and major construction projects etc. The Trust is seeking to appoint a Director with the ability and skills to drive forward its Catchment Plan, so as to deliver tangible outcomes which achieve high quality outputs for the River, its Catchment and people.
He/she will have the ability to communicate to a wide audience, and be able to plan, report on and monitor a diverse and varied work load. Partnership building and stakeholder engagement are essential components of this job.
Experience of fund-raising will be an advantage, as will managing conflicting interests on the river system. The Director will be highly motivated and flexible, with excellent Leadership, communications and resource management skills with a hands-on approach to the work.
An interest in and knowledge of the work of a Rivers Trust will be an advantage. Knowledge and experience of the river environment, catchment management, the Water Framework Directive or specialist knowledge of fluvial habitats and processes would also be an advantage.
