Preferred Habitats | Chub thrive in most waters from fast rivers and streams to large gravel pits and lakes. In the rivers they love to stay close to shaded, quiet places like reeds and weedbeds and overhanging trees and shrubs. Fond of living under under floodwater raft swims. |
Best Feeding Times | Dusk to a few hours into darkness best, but will feed almost anytime when the conditions are ideal |
Natural Food | Insect larvae, crustacea, molluscs, frogs,tadpoles, small fish, crayfish, slugs, worms, almost anything edible |
Maturity | Males 3 – 7, females 4 – 8 years |
