Kryston is a name now synonymous in carp and specialist fishingwith hooklength materials, and for good reason. For many years nowthey have been at the forefront of hooklink innovation andmanufacture, releasing new designs to cover every conceivable hookingarrangement.
However, throughout this period of design and marketing ofhooklink material Kryston have been selling another valuable productthat doesn’t receive the same kind of publicity and hype. I amspeaking of course of ‘KLIN-IK’.
‘KLIN-IK’ is marketed as an anti-bacterial fungal viral solution, which, simply stated, means it is used to prevent the infection ofopen wounds. The primary purpose of this solution is to sterilise theimmediate area of the hookhold to prevent infection from setting in.This can be administered by dripping the solution onto a finger andapplying directly onto the area of hook removal. As well aspreventing infection this also speeds up the natural healingprocess.
‘KLIN-IK’ can also be used on any open wounds, recent scale loss, split fins or any post spawning lesions to again preventing furtherinfection and to accelerate the healing process. On these larger ordeeper wounds the solution should be administered using thecotton-bud applicator (provided) allowing at least 10 seconds forskin penetration prior to releasing the fish.
Although aimed primarily at the carp angler, specimen fish of allspecies are now coming under increased pressure and recaptures ofmany species as well as carp are now becoming a way of life. Toensure the longevity of any fish involved in recaptures, ‘KLIN-IK’should become a standard accessory along with the mandatory forcepsand unhooking mat of all specialist anglers.
Available at most good tackle shops a 30ml bottle of ‘KLIN-IK’retails at £ 4.80 and will treat over 300 fish.
