Following last weeks slow start on waters that only opened on the16th of June, things have improved. Belmont Pool has settleddown to produce numerous carp to all methods. Fish are again beingdrawn in towards the bank, making those accurate casts to the islandunnecessary, with the resulting loss of terminal tackle when the thecasts are not as accurate as they should be.
Adjacent to Belmont Pool, Willow and Yew Tree are nowcoming up with the goods, with good results recorded from them bothover the last week.
Lymmvale has also improved since last week, with bottom fishedluncheon meat and sweetcorn accounting for good nets of tench. Carpare also featuring well, with mirrors and ghost carp the mostobliging at the moment.
Generally night anglers are getting the best of the action,although during the day certain individuals even outfish them becauseof their knowledge of the water. Members can share this knowledge,simply by giving Mike Wilkinson or John Stubbs a ring on 0160643862.
Other waters fishing particularly well are Village, Statham andFounders Pool, which at the moment are very consistant in givingup their bounty to all baits and methods.
Members are asked to report to officials if they have reason tothink night angling is taking place on Statham Pool. It seemsthat waters where it is against Club rules for members to night fish,are the very ones targetted by none members. Remember it is themembers who pay for these facilities, dont let poachers steal fromyou, report them immediately, in total confidence if required.
Another water we can open is Dukes Pool in Sandbach. Itwill no doubt be wildly overgrown until officials and helpers get towork on it, but it will still be well worth a visit nevertheless.This little water in known for its carp and roach stocks. Members arereminded that carbon and carbon composite rods are not allowed onthere, due to overhead electric powerlines. If you can assist tidyingup this water, give Mick Gater a ring on 01925 861018.
Another snippett of good new is the creation of a further two pegson Founders Pool, this has only been made possible due toextentions made in the screen netting by Phil Wain and Adrian Formby,ably supported by Mick Gater.
