Following the success of Carptek line Dave Harrell of Midland Angling Products (MAP) created a new hooklink and pole rig, hi-tech line for the match angler.

The line is available in 1lb, 1lb 5oz, 1lb 9oz, 1lb 14oz, 2lb 6oz and 3lb breaking strains with respective diameters of 0.06(mm), 0.07, 0.08, 0.09, 0.10 and 0.12.

The line has the following features:

FISHINGmagic VERDICT

I’ve used the Carptek version of this line for some time and found it to be a supple and reliable line of thin diameter for its breaking strain, so it comes as no surprise that this finer version aimed at the match angler is as equally pleasing.

You don’t, of course, have to be a match angler to be able to use it, but the strength range of Matchtek precludes fishing for anything other than the smaller species with it.

Definitely one of the better high tech Japanese lines I have no hesitation in recommending.
