Kevin Taylor, 50, from Little Plumstead, Norfolk, was among the list of victims of the tragic North Sea helicopter crash last week.
Kevin was a member of the Brundall Angling Club team who fished the Division Four National Championships yesterday. The team decided to go ahead with the event although they initially felt they should pull out as a mark of respect. After speaking with relatives, however, they decided to fish the match on the Northamptonshire’s Grand Union Canal.
A clearly distressed Robin Parke, secretary of Brundall AC, said, “We gained promotion from Division Five last year and were looking forward to going up again this term. It was touch and go whether we pulled out of the tournament but a majority voted to fish. Our main thoughts are for the grieving families.”
