Innovation through Experience for Mistral BaitsMISTRAL BAITS HAVE a head start over most bait companies for the simple reason that boss Alan Parbery has been in the bait-making game for over 21 years and an angler for a hell of a lot longer than that. Additionally he is also an all-round angler, not just a carp angler, although he probably catches as many big carp as most both from the UK and abroad. When he can actually go fishing that is, as Mistral are so busy he is struggling to find time to get away from work. He fishes all disciplines, coarse, game and sea, and can lay claim to catching three different species over 100lb each in the space of two hours! His arms were aching after that feat, but don’t feel too sorry for him as it happened in the Bahamas where a friend of his lives. Closer to home he enjoys chub fishing in winter and intends to fill the only gap in his fishing career, barbel fishing, as soon as he gets time. Mistral Baits have a simple philosophy: “Nothing stands still in life, that’s for sure, Mistral Baits have learned this over the last 20 years of trading and are always aiming to stay ahead of the pack.” Mistral produce a comprehensive range of baits, from boilies (including pop-ups and flavours), pellets, moist pellets, soft, squidgy, beanie and dusted pellets, floating baits, particles and base mixes. They also sell a good range of mono and braided lines. In 2006 Mistral are introducing many new products as well as improving even further some of the long standing, well proven ones. More and more exciting new ingredients are becoming available to move carp baits into the 21st century and Mistral are making sure they stay at the forefront of carp bait innovation. Though probably more well known for its Isotonic boilie range with many massive carp catchers such as Rosehip and Crab & Crawfish, within this range, Mistral also have a very strong Advanced Food Bait range which is aimed directly at the big carp scene, whether for a long term baiting campaign for that target whacker or just fishing one of the many big fish waters at home or abroad. The latest introduction to the Advanced Food Bait Range is the awesome ‘No Name’, a bait that has taken the last two years to perfect, with constant field testing to make sure the bait brought to market is the best long term fish catcher possible. ‘No Name’ is comprised of many powdered attractants, such as belachan, krill meal, yeasts and very high quality fishmeals. The addition of an exclusive, very high food value, liquid additive that they have named Salmon Sludge, which is basically a liquid that utilises the most nutritious elements of a salmon thus adding to the long term food value of the bait whilst releasing a very distinct, natural, attraction profile. They are sure ‘No Name’ will become one of the classic big carp baits in years to come. In field testing alone many, many twenties, thirties and even forties have fallen to it. Also within the Advanced Food Bait Range are the very well proven Anchovy Extract and Halibut Pellet boilies. Both have been slightly changed for 2006 to make them even better. Anchovy Extract has been further boosted by including the superb Salmon Sludge whilst Halibut Pellet now includes actual whole mini halibut pellets as well the ground pellet already included in its makeup, improving the attraction and giving it a unique texture. The back bone of Mistral Baits is the ever consistent Isotonic range which have caught thousands of carp in the UK and the world over. Whilst not wanting to spoil products that work brilliantly, slight changes have been made to some of the range to improve even further the attraction and long term effectiveness. Also some new additions to the range have been brought in – Tiger Nut, Blood Worm & Fishmeal and the reintroduction of the legendary Whiskey. Mistral Baits are determined to stay ahead of the game, and with anglers like Alan Parbery driving them, it’s a sure fire bet that they’ll be leading the pack. |
