63lb 8oz Mirror breaks Laroussi record!
Wayne Naylor took his first trip to France with Angling Lines and has caught the new Laroussi lake record mirror 63lb 8oz! (PB) on 25th October. Mr Naylor, from Barnsley, used boilies with a Size 8 Korda Wide gape hook, 20lb Hybrid Korda – 6 inches long and a 3oz lead. Fishing from ‘Le Chene’ swim, Wayne said “I’m overjoyed with this 63lb 8oz mirror! My last PB was 35lb 8oz. I had blanked for 3 days and this was only my second fish. It is my first time in France and I never expected to catch anything this big! I’m still in shock.” Glen Swaby also fishing Laroussi this same week had already taken a massive 48lb 8oz mirror (PB) and a 46lb (PB) sturgeon before this giant came out… The 63lb 6oz tops a so far fantastic season for this Angling Lines venue that continues to throw up simply spectacular catches… For more information ring Angling Lines on 08712 004466 or visit www.anglinglines.com Lake record beaten twice in same week! Glen Swaby & Wayne Naylor have had a whale of a time this week. Wayne on his first trip to France caught a new Laroussi lake record mirror 63lb 8oz! (PB) on Tuesday on 25th October. However Glen, from Pontefract in Yorkshire, only two days later, has just pulled out yet another incredible common weighing in at 65lb. This tops their other catches so far this week which also included mirrors of 41lb, 44lb and 46lb to name a few and they still have two days to go! The carp, believed previously caught in April this year at 54lb by Mr Clark, have shown a huge weight increase. “The rapid weight gain of carp at this venue is simply unbelievable, but most carp are well photographed and carefully identified so there’s no mistake!” said Mehdi Daho, the owner and on site bailiff, at this tremendous Angling Lines venue. Mehdi believes these massive weight gains are down to the plentiful supply of natural food in the lake, in particular the vast number of snails in the venue. The 65lb pristine monster was only 1.10m in length. Medhi assures us that with these weight gains other new sixties are expected to come out before the end of the season. |
