Peter Lepper and Gordon Prentice, both Labour MP’s, tabled amendments to extend public access to rivers and caused dismay amongst anglers.
Led by the National Federation of Anglers and The Salmon and Trout Association anglers are worried that walkers, cyclists and canoeists will ruin their sport if the Government accepts the proposals.
The commotion caused by canoeists and possibly noisy bankside activities and stalking wary fish just do not mix.
