‘Exhibition News’ reports that:
The Northern Angling Show 2013 will see purpose-built lakes occupy two halls at the venue dedicated to carp and coarse fishing. Other features will include: angling seminars, rig and bait clinics, demonstrations and talks from industry celebrities such as Kevin Nash and Matt Hayes. A third hall will feature ‘The Market Place’ with low-cost exhibitor stands and several key exhibitors have already signed up, including Nash, Maximum Carp, Korda and Phat Fish.
The consumer show hopes to attract 12,500 visitors and will run on 23-24 March 2013 and is being organised by well-known carp angler Jamie Clossick who claimed Manchester boasted a 120-mile catchment area for anglers, representing 43 per cent of all of the UK’s rod licenses, yet he pointed out that 90 per cent of anglers had not previously visited an event of this nature.
Jamie commented:
“There is a mass desire for such a show and it is our intention to ensure the event is delivered with the highest of production values and peppered with innovative content across the course of the weekend.”
The first UK Angling Awards are also being planned to recognise products, angling achievements and contributions to the industry.
EventCity MD Andy Orr expected the venue’s blend of onsite leisure and Trafford Park retail facilities would be a good fit with the event and said:
“We’re thrilled to host the debut of The Northern Angling Show to EventCity and are confident it will fast become one of the most successful shows in our annual calendar.”
