First Look PALLATRAX THE STEAMLINK It’s not often a product appears on the market that is truly different to the rest, but here we have one that goes a long way towards being different enough so that it can genuinely be called ‘new’.
The Steamlink, which is part of the Stonze System, is a specialised low visibility coated braid with an easily removable coating. The coating stiffens considerably when exposed to steam, which means that you can strip away an inch or so of the coating to reveal a very flexible length of braid up to the hook, and then make the coated part of the hooklink fairly stiff, but not rigid. Such a presentation often goes a long way towards offering an anti-eject rig without having to make up specific stiff rigs that are often too stiff for my liking anyway. The coating is transparent so the pale grey colour of the braid shows through. Offered in 15lb and 25lb bs on 20 metre dispensers that incorporate a cutter. Pallatrax say that they have field tested this product extensively in both lake and river and that it is the most successful hooklink they have used to date. | ||||||
