As usual the PAC Convention promises to be a great day out for all pike and predator anglers with many trade stands, workshops and demonstrations and talks by three top pike anglers: Des Taylor, Brian Ingram and George Higgins.
Des is well known to most anglers but the second two names will, perhaps, be less well known to many.
Brian Ingram, who will be talking pike fishing ‘Past, Present and Future’, has been pike angling for a long time and has caught some very large fish and is a man who really thinks about his approach, often utilising techniques that are ‘outside the box’. George Higgins is a legendary Irish pike angler and Irish piking will be the subject of his presentation – if you want to have your appetite whetted for some serious Emerald Isle pike then this is the talk to go to!
This year also sees the return of the ever popular ‘Piking Panel’ a Q and A session, which always has the potential to get a bit lively!
In addition to the talks there are also be a number trade stands, which offer the chance to stock up for the winter season ahead. Larger stands for 2013 include: The Tackle Shop, Eddie Turner Specialist Tackle, Pikefishing UK and Waterwolf; there will also be plenty of smaller specialist stands in the large Traders’ Hall.
Juniors are well catered for with three separate junior coaching workshops taking place all organised by Eric Edwards, the PAC Angling Development Officer. Eric will be assisted by a band of Sports England qualified Angling Coaches that form the PAC’s coaching team.
The convention is open to all and you do not have to be a PAC member to attend. Doors open at 9.00am and the admission costs are Adult PAC members £8.00, Adult non-members £10 (£2 refunded if you join on the day). Admission is free for under 16s, as is the car parking.
