BLACK CAT PVA BAGS | |
Black Cat Baits (BCB) which is based in Shropshire is an example of the classic family run business that contributes so much to the economy of our nation. The proprietor is Briony Anslow, and she started the company in 1997. Aided and abetted by her husband David, daughter and son-in-law Nicola and Darren, not to mention her octogenarian father, the business has developed nicely. In fact they now employ a number of local ‘home-workers’ that make the PVA bags. The bags that BCB supply are available in a wide variety of sizes, ranging from 3″ x 2″ to 9″ x 4″. Actually there are twenty different size bags available – something for everyone in other words! In addition to the bags BCB also produce four sizes of ‘cone’ bags, all 4” base width, but varying in lengths from 5″ to 8″. The prices are very competitive and include post and packing. For instance, at £ 1.30 for a 6″ x 4″ bag you can’t go wrong! There are special prices for clubs and syndicates and even lower ones for those involved in the trade. Contact BCB for further details. For trade customers, they will even produce a label with your name, logo, etc at no extra cost. Although synonymous with carp fishing, I personally use PVA bags when after other species as well – barbel, bream, tench – to name but a few. I don’t use PVA bags every time I go fishing. It’s a tactic that I will use when conditions suit. But suffice it to say that from now on I have a good supply of BCB bags in my tackle box for when the need arises!
