For anyone who still hasn’t got one, this is a great little tool. It works perfectly and if you use pellets, it ought to be in your tackle box. It makes putting a pellet on any band from 3mm to 12mm a doddle, even in the dark.
To use it, slip a bait band over the four prongs, operate the button as if it were a hypodermic and all four prongs open to allow slipping a pellet into place. Release the button and hey presto, it’s done. Easy.
Works with all sizes of bait band. This is as vital piece of equipment for the pellet user as a baiting needle is for a boilie user.
Not much more to say about it. Get one. They cost about a fiver so take care of it and it will look after you.
The bait bands? Hmm. Pluses and minuses. The micro ones are excellent, and will take anything up to an 8mm pellet with ease. I think these are made of latex and are similar to the dental types that are also available from other suppliers. Never seen them this small before though, you could probably band even the smallest pellet with one of these if you had to! These little micro bands are all I need to be honest, they stretch so I don’t really get the bigger sizes.
The larger ones are made of a different material too, making them much thicker than I like to use – but this also presumably means they’ll be stronger and won’t snap as easy as some other brands on the market. Definitely buy the micro one though.
