Gardner Mugga Hooks | |
|
OverviewI first started using the Muggas about 18 months ago, and have become the first choice for most of my fishing. The down-turned eye, straight point and curved shank suits the rigs I use, and I feel gives one of the best hooking potentials. Previous to that, I favoured the Nash ‘Fang’ hook, but found the points becoming a bit hit or miss so tried the (incredibly expensive) G-Hards, which I really liked the shape of, but found them to lose their point – excellent hook holds though! The Muggas are very sharp out of the packet, and more importantly, are quite easy to touch back into shape than some of the others (G-hards in particular). They are quite big for their size, a size 6 and size 8 are next to a 15mm bait in the picture. Thay have a fairly heavy guage so they are great for fishing in weedy/snaggy lakes, and as I normally use a snowman type presentation it doesn’t detract from the rig.
