Overview
The new Lightweight Accessory Chair is constructed from high grade aluminium and features a new mesh cover.
This waterproof material allows the roving angler not to worry when the weather turns as the rain runs through it. A quick shake and a wipe with a cloth and it’s dry again. No more sitting in a puddle then waiting a week for your chair to dry!
This lightweight chair is approximately 33% lighter than the Standard Accessory Chair and brings the convenience of the accessories to a truly portable full size chair.
FishingMagic Verdict
As much as I rate my Korum Deluxe Accessory Chair it weighs just too much for any roving type of fishing. Of course it was never made for that.
Luckily though, the original Standard Accessory Chair just got better; it got lighter by about 33%, now weighing in at a very manageable 4kg.
Flexible mud feet
I must admit to a liking for a side tray, or table, when I’m fishing, just for the shear convenience. So if I’m not walking too far I can slide one of the larger Preston Innovations’ side trays in the fold of the seat. It doesn’t weigh much, but if I’m going to walk a field or two then the smaller tray that comes free with the Deluxe Accessory Chair is the choice.
That’s the beauty of these chairs, and the reason why they’re called ‘Accessory’ Chairs, having all the convenience of a wide range of accessories from Korum and, if that isn’t enough, Preston Innovations’ Off Box range.

And make no mistake, they’re good river chairs, having good adjustment for sloping banks, with none of the risk of collapsing that you get with so many chairs, especially the so-called lightweight ones, many of them weighing twice as much as this model from Korum. Although the legs do fold neatly away when carrying it.
If you like a firm seat then they don’t come any better than this. The plastic material of the mesh has very little give, so unlike some chair materials that sag over time this one stays firm and comfortable.
It’s not perfect, as I’d like to have seen it with a non leg marking feature in stead of the locking screws biting into the paintwork on the legs. Although many of these innovations we’d ‘like to see’ just add a little more weight until you reach the stage where it’s no longer a true ‘lightweight’ chair.
Still, I do know that Korum is a brand that doesn’t stand still, and I’ve been privileged to have a sneak preview of some excellent new product in the pipeline for the near future. Who knows what this might bring along. Keep your eye on FM and you’ll be amongst the first to know.
