I don’t know what it is about the Esterberry flavour but I do know that it is an addictive flavour. Every time I open a bag I have to sniff up the heady aroma like an asthmatic gasping for a hard-earned breath. Once that boilie bag is opened your ruckbag, and anything else the boilies have come in contact with, will smell of that thick, pungent, sickly sweet perfume. It is a pleasing smell, however, that demands to be sniffed at and enjoyed at every opportunity. If the fish find it as attractive as I do then it is no wonder my friends and I have used them to such good effect in the last 12 months or so.
We have used the small 10mm size to catch carp, tench, bream and barbel, usually presenting a double bait on a hair rig, and sometimes in combination with a method feeder. When we have used them with The Method we have riddled the feed with pieces of broken 14mm boilies and used single or double 10mm’s on the hair.
I was quite surprised how effective they were for barbel, for we usually associate savoury, and especially spicy, flavours with old whiskers, but we decided that we had to give Esterberry a go considering how well we had done with them for stillwater species. The very first time out I had a 9.5 barbel and a couple of smaller ones.
So Esterberry are now one of my firm favourites for any species where boilies are the bait to use.
They come in sizes ranging from 10mm to 22mm and in packs from 400g to 5kg.
