Richard Green, aged 15, a Trainee Angling Instructor for Stoke Angling For Everyone, is organising a sponsored fishing match to raise funds for Kealeigh Anne who is under 5 years old and has Spastic Quadriplegia. Funds are being raised locally to allow Kealeigh to swim with Dolphins in Florida, it is hoped this will help to stimulate her brain activity thus improving her quality of life.
In order to help achieve the above a total of £ 10,000 needs to be raised. So far a local group, the Jolly Potters, through fund-raising events have managed to raise £ 6,000.00. SAFE would like to help raise as much of the remaining £ 4,000 as possible.
In order to do this we have organised an event that represents what we do best – fish. On Thursday 15th August from 4.30p.m. to 7.30p.m. on the Trent & Mersey Canal Stoke a 3-hour juvenile fishing-match with 200 plus places available will take place.
This stretch of canal has been kindly donated by Fenton & District (the Meadows Length). The allocation of pegs will be at 4.00 p.m. on the Meadows car park and the match will begin at 4.30pm and finish at 7.30pm,
All involved would like to make this a successful event in many ways; by raising as much as we can through sponsorship of the competitors and for rewarding all that take part. For the winners there are some excellent prizes, which have been donated by local angling shops and the main prize has been donated by one of the leading angling manufacturers in the UK.
SAFE would like to put a request out to any Angling Club with junior members under the age of 16, or any individual under 16 plus other organisations who would like to take part in this sponsored event to contact us and register as soon as possible.
To register for the sponsored event or further information and a sponsor form please contact the organiser Richard Green on 07903 180320 or Stuart Wiltshaw on 01782 335104
