TTW say:

“After eight years as managing director of UK tackle giant Hardy & Greys, Richard Sanderson has left his post at the company.

Staff were told of Richard’s departure at 09.30 GMT, Wednesday 16th November.

TTW also understands that between 25 and 35 other members of staff are expected to lose their jobs within the next few months as part of wholesale changes at the company.

Richard joined Alnwick-based Hardy back in 2003 from DIY tool manufacturing brand Black & Decker, where he was also managing director.

During his tenure Hardy has grown significantly, introducing successful brands such as Chub in the carp market, while also strengthening its historic names like Hardy.

However, times have become increasingly tough for the company in recent years, with the most up-to-date financial figures showing a revenue loss in excess of £500,000.

TTW believes that the proposed job losses will be made at the company’s headquarters in Alnwick, England, and that its USA and German operations, as well as its sales team, will not be affected.

The main point of contact for the trade will now be sales and marketing manager Ken Brewster. It is understood that Ken will run the company with three other Hardy & Greys directors with the part-time assistance of present board member and previous managing director Richard Maudslay.”
