Using high molecular weight polyethylene, noted for it’s superior abrasion resistance with high knot strength, Antares Special Dyneema braid is also unaffected by Ultra Violet light and micro-organisms.
This low diameter premium braid yields exceptional high breaking strains compared to nylon monofilament yet remains incredibly supple with minimal stretch (less than 4%) enhancing casting, bite detection (even at extreme range) and control of terminal tackle.
Due to the softness, Antares Special Dyneema keeps line twist to a minimum (but always put a swivel between the lead/hook and the mainline when repeatedly casting at extreme range on lighter hooklinks).
On waters affected by flow, tide or undertow the low diameter to breaking strain ratio means that less weight is required to get perfect presentation even at extreme range.Not forgetting the feel of playing fish on braid as every twist and turn of a fish is felt. Unless you’ve actually used braid you’ll be in the dark about this, but the sensation is electric.
The special spun low friction coating of Antares Special Dyneema greatly reduces rod ring noise when playing fish and retrieving heavy terminal tackle, the other, more important benefit, is that it should cast extremely well.
Used in conjunction with a suitable shock leader even a modest caster should extend his ultimate distance.
