The iconic Baitrunner has been the mainstay of carp and specialist anglers since its launch over 15 years ago and Shimano have recently confirmed that new models will be rolling off the production lines towards the end of this year.
It is understood that the Big Baitrunner LC and the Medium Baitrunner XT-A will be the main focus and Shimano’s Product Developer Chris de Haan commented: “The Big Baitrunner LC has been one of our bestselling reels but it has been on the market since 1998 so we have totally re-designed it using the very latest technology and materials.”
In addition to the Big Baitrunner there will be new entry-level big pits as well as Aerlex and Beastmaster models.
Shimano recently picked up the Best Fixed Spool Reel award at EFTTEX 2011 – the fifth year in succession they walked away with the top honours! The reel doing the business this time around being the Aero Technium Msg; a tough yet remarkably lightweight big pit model with outstanding line lay achieved through Super Slow Oscillation delivering 100 rotor turns in a single oscillation.
