THESE WALKING BOOTS from Skee-tex are very comfortable to wear and well padded, including a thick sole that makes walking over rocky ground almost a pleasant experience; no doubt the shock-absorber aspect of the sole has a lot to do with that. The sole also provides good grip in mud and they are also a boost for vertically challenged anglers like me who gain an inch or two in height. The heel part extended far enough up the ankle for comfort, but not too far that it rubbed on the back of your leg like some boots do. The laces are good quality and should last a long time, which was a pleasant surprise considering many otherwise decent boots skimp on lace quality to save a few bob. I’ve pulled really tight on the laces, probably a lot more than you would normally and the lace eyelets showed no signs of bending or coming away from the fabric. After standing in the water almost to lace level for over an hour the boots showed no signs of leaking. My feet were always warm even though the water was close to freezing. And most important, the boots were easy to pull on and take off. None of those irritating struggles to free them from your feet, in the dark, after a long session on a cold river or lake.
