Advanced Bait System Designed for Modern Anglers
SKINZ ARE A new bait from Sonu:Baits and distributed by Preston Innovations.
Hookbaits They’re different for several reasons but the main one is that the hookbaits are an advanced, skinned hookable pellet type bait.
Tommy Pickering displays the Skinz range
Following soaking, Skinz hookbaits form a hookable but tough skin, similar to the skin of a maggot, that allows the bait to be hooked directly, yet within that skin lies a package of soluble feeding triggers that go to work immediately.

The hook pellets can be used directly on the hook or hair-rigged. They will withstand vigorous casting without coming off the hook or hair. They can be shipped out when pole fishing without the drag through the water pulling them off the hook.
Skinz, soaked and ready for the hook
The hook pellets can be used straight from the bag or soaked for a few minutes and up to several hours. If soaked overnight they can be kneaded into a paste. They can be soaked in oil or water containing your own unique flavour.

Feed Pellets Skinz feed pellets have a fast breakdown and dissolve in just a few minutes. This helps to prevent overfeeding and promotes feeding over long periods. The feed pellets are naturally sinking and require no pre-soaking before use.

They can be fed into the swim by all the usual baiting methods, including loose feed, mixed with groundbait, in a PVA bag or spod, and with a groundbait feeder. They are full of nutritional ingredients that provide coarse fish with a healthy balanced diet, and are biodegradable

The soluble skin and highly digestible, biodegradable core are both made from a nutritionally advanced blend of ingredients, including fast ‘Attract’ stimulant. This fills the swim with powerful feeding triggers and attraction without overfeeding.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT
I’ve used them a few times and I can’t argue with any of the claims made by Sonu. The hook pellets stay on the hook (withstanding a 60 yard cast at the recent FishingMagic match at Clattercote when used with a Method feeder) and under a waggler float fishing locally.
I used the feed pellets straight out of the bag, mixed in with the Method mix, and I’ve used the hook pellets in the same way, and also soaked for a few minutes and soaked overnight.
Skinz are the brainchild of Preston Innovations’ founder Dave Preston
I’ve not yet used them with any kind of flavouring, as I’ve caught on them just as they are and see no reason for it. The natural smell of Skinz is very subtle and I like subtle when it comes to flavours. Besides, their own unique flavour may give you that edge with wily, seen it all, fish.
They hook well when used directly on the hook or used on a hair, and they really do stay on the hook even following a forceful cast and a rapid retrieve from long range.
Like me, when you first see them and feel them, you won’t believe the transformation that takes place once they’ve been introduced to water for a few minutes or more. The skin is like elastic and yet the inner core remains quite dry.
Skinz are indeed a unique product, a bait like no other on the market. Try them and see for yourself; they could just be what you need on your local water where the fish have seen everything else.
