The weather had changed for the better at Domaine Des Iles the day before we left and we were wishing it was the start of our week rather than the end. 
Perhaps only hours even after we vacated the swims the next party of anglers moved in, and one of them, John Wiggins, caught a 51lb mirror.
It was caught from the same swim by the dam that produced the most big fish during our week.
It was the 6th carp over 50lb to be caught since August.
There’s always next year I suppose – roll on!
