Notice is hereby given: Sussex Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (Sussex IFCA) in exercise of its powers under Sections 155 and 156 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, intends to apply to THE MINISTER FOR THE DEPARTMENT FOR ENVIRONMENT, FOOD AND RURAL AFFAIRS for confirmation of the ‘Chichester Harbour European Marine Site (Specified Areas) Prohibition of Fishing Method’ Byelaw.
Byelaw details:
This Byelaw prohibits the use of towed fishing gears, digging, collection and hand gathering of marine fisheries resources in specified areas of Chichester Harbour to protect Seagrass (Zostera spp) and therefore help prevent damage or deterioration of the Solent European Marine Site.
