The Drennan Cup, sponsored by Drennan International, and run by Angling Times since 1984, is one of the specialist anglers most coveted prizes.
Each week one or more captors of the week’s exceptional fish are rewarded with a weekly winner’s cheque of £ 80. In March each year all the previous weekly winners vote for the man or woman who is deemed to be the best, and is presented with the Drennan Cup and a cheque for £ 2000.
For the second time in three years the cup has been netted by Terry Lampard, a respected big fish angler from Blandford in Dorset. He won a total of 10 weekly awards in the year leading up to winning the trophy.
