Nigel Ramsbottom from Manchester has had a 22lb common and a 22.05 mirror, he was using Richworth multiplex boilies over spodded hemp at 40yards.
HARDWICK LAKE
Bolton angler Lee Deweet caught a 39lb linear scaled mirror when he fished a particle hook bait and casters in a PVA bag at 70 yards range. It was a personal best for Lee.
High Wycombe angler Chris Wylot fished single boilies at 60 yards range to catch a mirror of 25.12.
Dom Spalding from Carterton fished single Mainline Boilies to catch a fully scaled mirror of 23lb.
On the social bank, Lee Ellis and Joe Flynn have had 5 fish between them. Lee having a fully scaled mirror weighing 21.04 and another mirror of 22.06 and a common at 24.06. These were all taken on particles at relatively short range.
Also on St Johns, John Disley down on a weeks holiday from Liverpool has banked the Big Common at 38.04. This is a new P.B. by over 10lb’s, his previous P.B. of 27.04 was taken last year, again on his weeks holiday to Linear on Oxlease lake. He’s also had a 20lb mirror, both fish were taken on bags of maggots at about 70yards off the road bank.
Tim Finch (John Finch’s brother) has had a 23lb mirror off the top using Bankside’s nut pop-ups on a zig-rig.
YEOMENS LAKE
A 29.04 mirror has been taken on Edge Baits by Brett Muggeridge. He used pineapple chunk b/baits over spodded hemp & pellets at roughly 45yards.
‘Chipshop’ Pete banked a 24lb mirror using edge baits pineapple boilies in the margins.
Fishing with Richworth Ultra-Plex Boilies over free offerings in the margins, Brian Ockendon caught a personal best mirror of 32.04.
UNITY LAKE
Over the last couple of days John Newman has had a number of fish including ghosties of 27.02 & 24.05 along with mirrors of 27lb & 18.02.
These were all taken on Dynamite boilies on two seperate marginal spots. As i right this he has a couple of the larger ghosties in front of him and is trying to take one off the top!
Bill Ferriday from Oxon has had 8 fish, all doubles with four of them being over 16lb. These were taken on Richworth Tutti Frutti boilies in conjunction with groundbait in PVA bags.
OXLEASE LAKE
John Barnes from East London caught 16 mirror carp to 20.02 when he presented particle hook baits over a bed of pellets at 50 yards range.
Oakley angler Dave Small also fished at 50 yards range with particle hook baits and pellets in PVA bags to catch four mirrors that included fish of 23.12, 22.02, 21.06.
Leicester angler Gary Ward caught four carp to 29.12 when he fished Richworth Tuti-Fruti Boilies along with pellets in PVA bags at 60 yards. His Father Alan caught seven mirrors to 24.14 fishing the same method.
15 year old Josh Hillman on his first visit to oxlease practising for the Angling publications Junior British Carp Championships. So far he’s had mirrors of 23.10, 24.08, 24.12 and two of the new stockies that went in this week. All his fish were taken on Mainline fusion boilies and pellets in PVA bags at roughly 60 yards.
The 100 stockies that went in ranged between 5 – 6lbs, so at current rates of growth with the Mark Simmonds fish should be 30’s within 4-5 yrs!
Richard Ellis from Cambs, fishing Fusion bottom baits and pellets in the margins has had 9 doubles upto 19.02. Also from Cambs, Phil Harrison has also had 3 doubles using the same tactics as Richard.
Derek Maidment from Southampton had 4 doubles and 1 single up to 26.04. He was using particles over spod mix at 60 yards.
Also on Oxlease, Nick Adams banked a 26.10 mirror on maize, stick rigging at 60 yards.
Suhael Odeh who is 14 years old an a school trip from Westgate school had a 25lb mirror using Richworth complex boilies at 20yards, presented on a stick rig.
Eight doubles were banked by Neil Robinson using PVA bags and pellets with complex boilies at 50yards.
Malcolm Taylor from Newbury has taken a P.B. 26lb mirror using PVA bags and Dynamite boilies and pellets again at 50yards.
Angling pair Mark Bawden and Matt Illman from Herefordshire caught 10 carp between them when they fished home made boilies over spodded pellets at 50 yards range. Their biggest fish weighed 25.08.
Jack Hardisty from Yeovil caught a personal best 31lb mirror and two doubles when he fished Tails Up FU2 Boilies over spodded pellets at 60 yards.
