GENERAL
The Pike Anglers Association are running a pike match for juniors on Saturday March 16th this year. The competition will take place on Linear’s Manor Farm Lake and is open to everyone between the ages of 10 and 16. There will only be a limited number of places and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. It does not cost anything to enter and there will be lots of prizes supplied by several fishing tackle companies for all those taking part. Along with a number of PAC members there will be Gord Burton (The Piking Pirate) and Steve Crowther to help and give advice. For further information please contact Malcolm Yates on 01451 850659
HARDWICK LAKE
Ian Poole has spread his magic to the water by catching a 30lb 4oz mirror. This is the same fish that Nick Bull caught last summer and which is featured in the new 2002 brochure – it weighed 26.09 when Nick caught it. Ian was fishing in very close using small PVA bags and Richworth Bio-Plex boilies. It is his first thirty from Hardwick Lake.
Fish to 23lb have been reported caught from the causeway. Boilies were used but we have no more details.
ST JOHNS LAKE
Tim Childs found his fish at 70 yards range. Using particle hook bait along with small PVA bags filled with pellets and particle he caught four of the waters super twenties. All were mirrors and weighed 23lb, 24lb, 22lb and 17lb 6oz.
MANOR FARM LAKE
Stoke on Trent’s Dave Lowe caught the fish he wanted this morning – ‘Cut Tail’ the mirror at 40lb 4oz. Dave has caught other fish on the complex but this is his first from Manor and a PB. Dave fished Premier Baits’ boilies at 70 yards to tempt this whacker!
