ST JOHNS
13 year old Tom Eccles from Wigan – on his first visit to the water with his father has caught a PB mirror carp of 30.12. Dad – Ian, not to be outdone, has caught mirrors of 26.12 & 25.01. Both are using the method at 20 yardsrange.
Dartford’s, Steve Hobbs fishing paste around boilies over spodded pellet at 50 yards has caught mirrors of 21.08 & 20.12. His fishing pal, Kevin Lake, has caught a PB fully scaled mirror of 25.08.
Ten year old Patrick Shardlow from Wales fished a Richworth Tuti-Fruti pop-up to catch an 18lb common.
Ian Wright and Ian Smith both from Stoke-on-Trent fished zig rigs which resulted in eight carp to 24.10 between them.
John Robins from Coventry fished a Zig Rig to catch a common carp of 24lb and three mirrors of 22lb, 18.01 and 11.08.
HARDWICK LAKE
Marcus Powell from Aylesbury used Richworth Tuti-Fruti boilies to catch a 32.08 mirror and also on Hardwick Alan McVivor caught a 32.13 on boilie. Martin Clarke caught mirrors of 25.13 and 20.04 and Gary Bearman from Bedfordshire caught a common of 24.10.
Gary Bearman from Luton has added another three twenties and two doubles to the fish we reported recently. The best of these was a common of 26.04.
Jon Finch fished a Zig Rig to catch mirrors of 29.02. 24.06 & 14.06.
Boilies fished with a PVA bag and pellets caught a personal best mirror carp of 24.12 for Ben Norley from East sussex.
Also with another personal best is John Andrews from Somerset who fished a single boilie hook bait to catch a mirror of 25.05.
Karl Harman from Dorset fished particle hook bait over spodded hemp and particles to catch a 26.06 mirror.
Two mirrors of 27.08 and 23.04 were caught on Frank Warwick single pop-ups by Graham Jones.
On his first visit to the water, Craig Maughan from Dunstable caught a 31.02 mirror on particles.
MANOR FARM LAKE
Terry Downes from Oxford fished single hook bait, strawberry pop-ups to catch a PB common of 22.03.
Terry Hearn fished on the surface to catch mirror carp of 29.10, 22lb and five doubles.
On his first visit to the water, Dominic Watson from Aylesbury chalked up two personal best mirrors of 29.02 & 27.06. Dominic fished at 60 yards with single home made boilie pop-ups.
UNITY LAKE
A common carp of 24.10 has been reported and Alvin Roy has caught a 9lb tench.
Ivor Peachy has caught mirrors of 24.06 and 16lb.
HUNTS CORNER LAKE
Linear veteran, Stef Bal, from Bedfordshire fished the margins to catch a 29.04 common and a 24lb mirror.
GAUNTS LAKE
Ivor Peachy reports catching a ghost carp of 24.02.
Jimmy Evans from Wales caught a mirror of 23.10 and Danny Aplin caught another of 28.10.
YEOMANS LAKE
Mirrors of 27 & 24lb have been reported.
OXLEASE LAKE
The carp fishing is steady with fish to 21.12 reported caught on small pop-ups at 80-100 yards. The smaller stock fish have not yet started to feed but now with the milder weather have started to show. Plenty of tench being caught and a pike of over 20lb that was caught on a boilie.
Paul Farley from Banbury used Richworth Airball pop-ups to catch a mirror of 21.04.
Terry Hayward from Hackney fished Maple 8 boilies to catch a mirror of 20.08.Fifteen year old Tony Preston from Essex caught a mirror of 21.08 and a common of 22.07 and Dom Spalding from Oxford caught a mirror of 21.10.
ELSTOW PIT TWO (NEAR BEDFORD)
Alan Kelly from Berkhamstead fished Richworth Boilies at range to catch a PB – 34.02 carp known as the ‘Starburst Mirror’. He also caught five doubles to 19lb.
Matthew Aston from Sidcup caught two PB’s – a common of 25.08 and a mirror of 21.12.
