UNITY LAKE
John (Flash) Davey has started his weekend session on the water with a 29lb mirror carp. The Northampton bricklayer fished Main Line NRG bait along with crushed boilies and Rapid Response Pellets in PVA bags at 65 yards to tempt the big mirror which picked up his hookbait just four hours into his session. This is a PB mirror for John and his first 2002 twenty.
GAUNTS LAKE
Danny Alpin from nearby Didcot used a single hookbait each cast and caught a cracking 27.07 common carp and a 20.12 mirror from the water over the weekend. The fish were in excellent condition.
ST JOHNS LAKE
The water continued to fish well for some over the weekend and it hasn’t gone unnoticed that nearly all the carp caught so far this year have been over twenty pounds in weight. this not only applies to St. Johns but also all the other Linear Oxfordshire waters.
A single Fruitella 12mm pop-up fished at 100 yards was all Adam Walton needed to catch a P/B mirror carp. The fish picked up his hookbait at 6pm yesterday and fought for 15 minutes before sliding over the net. The fish which weighed 28lbs beat Adam’s previous best by 7lbs. Well done Adam!
Despite very strong winds making it almost impossible to get loose feed out with any accuracy, Gary Harrow from Kent managed to catch a 21.06 mirror carp on a single Solar Pop-Up’.
