YEOMANS LAKE
Nick Bull finished his session on the water with another four fish – two commons of 11.08 and 19.12, a mirror of 19.14 and a linear mirror of 28.03.
Bruce Farnham from Leicester caught a personal best mirror of 29.08 on tiger nuts. There was also another PB for Steve Wilkinson from Hampshire when he caught a 32lb specimen. The big common was caught on a Richworth Strawberry Boilie.
GAUNTS LAKE
The water produced a new lake record carp last night. The big mirror that weighed 37.12 was caught by Ian Day using Richworth Multiplex boilies on the hook along with broken boilies and pellets in PVA bags.
Ian is a Degree Student from Sparsholt College and has been on the Linear Waters for work experience. Working during the days and fishing at nights on different lakes on the site Ian had already been rewarded with a personal best 23.08 from Manor Farm and now this big Gaunts fish caught on his last night has knocked that PB for six.
Aidan Sharpe from Surrey fished hard up against the island with a single hook bait to catch a personal best mirror carp of 31.04. This is not only a PB but Aidan’s first thirty.
Bailiff Roy Parsons recognised the fish from last year as one that then weighed 31.08 – so that fish has gained 6.04lbs since then. Roy also points out that the 35+ fish from last year as yet to be caught – we are now hoping it will make 40.
UNITY LAKE
The water has just produced a lake record ghost carp for Oxfordshire’s Darren Billington. The 28.03 fish was caught on a single tiger nut.
ST JOHNS LAKE
Bicester’s Richard French is back on the water to catch a mirror of 21.10 on boilies.
There have been a number of other carp reported, caught this week – mainly doubles.
HUNTS CORNER LAKE
Postman, Stuart Matthews, from Powys fishing particles caught a 31.08 carp. The big common, a PB for Stuart, took a particle bait. Featuring in his catch were two other fish – mirrors of 22.06 and 14.02.
HARDWICK LAKE
Mark Roberts has caught his first thirty, at 31.02 the mirror is a PB. In the next swim his fishing partner Paul Parkinson managed a 20.15 fully scaled mirror. Both anglers are from The Wirral and caught the fish on particles.
Birmingham’s Stuart Brotherton also found some of Hardwick’s many carp feeding on the surface and caught a mirror of 21.06.
