A Premier Baits Stringer did the trick for Stoke on Trent’s Ray Spruce. Ray who was fishing as a members guest caught a fully scaled mirror of 27.04, a mirror of 26.02 and four doubles.
Nick Bull is back and so far has caught two mirrors of 25.02 and 22.10 – no doubt we will hear more from this session.
UNITY LAKE
Chris Hopwood fishing as a members guest caught a personal best 31.12 mirror. Chris also caught a common of 14.06 Both fish were caught using Mainline Extract over pellets and broken boilies. The big mirror is a new lake record for Unity.
Mac, the bailiff, reports catching three doubles to 18lb and believes that the fish are getting ready to spawn – with the weather that is forecast for the next two days it is likely that they will soon forget about that.

Steve Honeyford from South Wales caught a mirror of 29.14
ST JOHNS LAKE
Daniel Betterage from Solihull found the tench feeding this week. Using feeder and red maggot Daniel caught ten fish with the best three weighing 8.02, 7.10 and 7.04.
A bright, Frank Warwick, Pineapple pop-up enticed a 24.12 common for Steve Hart of Coventry.
Les Haines from Hornchurch in Essex used Nash Formula 1 boilies and pellets in PVA bags to catch a personal best mirror of 29lbs.
Alan Mauson from Croydon used a single pineapple boilie to catch a fully scaled mirror of 25.08.
Also from Croydon is Pete Bridgeland who caught a 24.04 mirror and a 14.08 common on Activ-8 over spodded pellet.
Harrow’s, Kirk Raper fished particles to catch a 30.12 mirror.
Particles accounted for a 29.04 linear mirror, a 21.08 mirror and a 19lb common for Bedford’s Carl Pashley.
With only 12 months carp fishing experience behind him, Tony Donovan from Raleigh in Essex caught a 34lb mirror. Tony used Solar’s Top Banana & Toffee boilies to catch the big carp which beat his previous personal best by over 18lb.
Fishing particle hook baits and using Mike Winstones Wet & Dry Mix in PVA bags, Steve Pullee from Evesham in Worcestershire caught a personal best common of 32.08 and mirror of 28.02.
Long time regular, Rick Butcher from London’s East End bought his wife Janet and his 13 year old son Karl to the water for a two day session. The hope was that young Karl would catch his first twenty + carp. Karl did this in a spectacular way by landing a 30.8 mirror carp and for a Bonus mum also caught a personal best 25.08 mirror.
News From Last Weekend
Chris Wrightson from Gloucestershire fished particles to catch a personal best 32.08 mirror along with three other mirrors of 25lb, 24lb & 21.08.
Fishing Richworth Tutti-Frutti pop-ups, Dartford’s Steve Silverton also caught a personal best 32lb mirror along with another nice fish of 25.06.
HARDWICK LAKE
Using NRG boilies over pellets and broken boilies, Matt Eaton from Slough has caught mirrors of 24.12, 20.08, 19.00 and 13.08.
Buckingham’s Mike Winnett fished Activ8 boilies over groundbait to catch a personal best mirror of 32.01.
Seventeen year old Aaron Edwards, a Sparsholt College Student on work experience at Linear took the advice of bailiff, Roy Parsons when told the bulk of the fish had moved with the wind and were now on the shallows. He moved and was rewarded with a personal best mirror carp of 32lb for his trouble. We do recall that the last time Aaron was with us on work experience a couple of years ago he pulled out a thirty plus common. What do they teach them at Sparsholt?
Mr Cook from Tring has caught a personal best mirror carp of 25.14 and Mr D Stroud has a 27.02 linear mirror to his credit.
Kerry Knight from Stoke on Trent fished a stringer and hook bait made up of Premier Boilies to catch a 30.04 mirror. his mate, Dave Lowe, fishing alongside him and using the same method caught a 22.12 linear mirror and a common of 18.08.
HUNTS CORNER LAKE
Stuart Matthews reports that following the success with the big common, that we reported last week, he went back a few days later and caught mirrors of 18lb, 15.04, 20lb, 25.04 and 19lb. The fish all came in the last ten hours of his latest session and although three other fish were lost Stuart went home a happy man.
Stefan Bal from Bedfordshire fished a short day time session on the water and caught a 26.14 mirror on Heathrow Bait Services Pineapple pop-ups.
MANOR FARM LAKE
John Glasscoe is only 12 hours into a five day session that he won in a competition and already he’s caught two commons of 20.02 and 23.04. John is using Solar Black & Blue boilies.
