GAUNTS LAKE
Cheshire’s Mark Dowd fished the lake at the weekend to catch a 36lb plus mirror. We have also heard that there was another big mirror of 34lb plus caught – we hope to have more details later.
The lake is back in the news again with a 27.12 mirror to Dave Barnes of Bishops Storford – the fish was caught on particles.
Oxfords, Roger Mitchell fished Richworth Multiplex boilies along with PVA bags containing Richworth pellets and broken boilies to catch mirrors of 32lb, 19.14, 10.04 and 9lb. The big mirror was a personal best for Roger.
YEOMANS LAKE
Nick Bull added another twenty to the two twenty plus mirrors he caught on his last session. This time it was a common of 22.05.
Bicester’s Brett Moggeridge used small pop-ups to catch a mirror of 27.06 and guest Scott Currall from Banbury caught a 24.12 mirror using Richworth Multiplex. Peter Chrystoforue caught a 12.08 bream.
Brian Ockenden used tiger nuts to catch a personal best common carp of 24.12
Alan Edge used boilies to catch mirrors of 27.12 and 29.04.
ST JOHNS LAKE
Aaron Edwards the seventeen year old Sparsholt College Student who we reported catching a 32lb mirror from Hardwick Lake two days ago fancied a move across the road and was rewarded with a 28.02 mirror from St. Johns. Since then he has added to the two good fish with a common of 24.06.
Also on St. Johns is J McFarland who has caught a personal best mirror carp of 30.12.
Dave Lane is finding the fish on the shallows. Fishing at 20 yards and using NRG boilies Dave has so far caught a 19lb linear mirror and a 22.08 common. He ended his session with two more doubles to 19lb.
An Activ-8 boilie put a 26.04 mirror on the bank for Steve Currie of Welwyn Garden City.
Ray McDermid from Welwyn Garden City caught a personal best common of 29.12 and three mirrors of 26lb 15.08 and 14.08.
HARDWICK LAKE
Paul Morgan (Suicide Paul) from Cardiff, South Wales has caught a PB common carp and also a new Hardwick Lake record common carp and a 21,04 mirror. The big fish that weighed 35.14 was caught on Activ8 boilies fished over Hinders Betaine Pellets. He ended his session with a mirror of 31.04.
Fishing at between 65-70 yards and using both particles and boilie hook baits, Bedford’s Carl Pashley has so far caught five carp to 22.04
HUNTS CORNER LAKE
Twenty three year old Kyle Thomas from Abingdon, Oxfordshire has just broken the Hunts Corner Lake Mirror Carp Record with a fish of 33.04. This is Kyle’s first UK thirty and a personal best. Fishing with PVA bags containing broken boilies and with Provit Liver Pop-up hook baits Kyle also caught mirrors of 20.15, 20.01 and 14.04.
Bailiff, Colin Ambridge can catch the Hunts Corner fish when he wants to. He proved it today with a 28lb mirror on a Richworth bright orange boilies that he had cadged off Ronnie Buss. We don’t know if it’s true but we have heard that Ronnie would only give him one! but that was all he needed.
MANOR FARM LAKE
Clint Walker from Newport, Wales fished at 45 yards using single Richworth Bioplex boilies with just a few free offerings around them to catch mirrors of 19.08 and 25.08.
Welwyn Garden City’s Steve Marsh decided that his first visit to the site was only going to be a short one and three hours into the planned six hour session he caught a 25.01 mirror. The fish was caught on a home made pop-up.
UNITY LAKE
Bailiff Mac’ coaxed a nice ghost carp of 19.12 from the water.
