ST JOHNS LAKE
ST. JOHNS LAKE WILL BE CLOSED ON AUGUST 5th, 6th & 7th FOR A PRO-AM CHILDRENS COMPETITION. ANGLERS WILL BE ABLE TO GET BACK ON THE WATER ON THE EVENING OF THE 7th.
Oxfordshire’s Mark Churchill caught two fish off the surface – a 24.04 mirror and a 14.04 common. Later he took another two on bottom baits, again a mirror and a common of 18.14 and 12.08.
Matt Maguire caught four fish on boilies fished on the bottom – 13.01 common, 15.12 and 19.00 linear mirrors and a 23.10 mirror.
Alex Craven caught three PB’s – a common of 22.14, a mirror of 25.12 and a 7.12 tench. Also featuring in his catch were carp of 17.08 15.01, 16.00, 23.08 and 23lb.
Richard Swailes of Batley, West Yorks, on his first visit to the water caught a mirror of 28.00. His brother Steven caught a PB mirror of 30.08. They both fished a snowman rig using Quality Baits mixed with Nash Whisky Boilies and used pellets in PVA bags.
HARDWICK LAKE
Nigel Archer fished boilie bottom baits to catch a common carp of 20.02 and a mirror of 26.04.
MANOR FARM LAKE
Oxfordshire’s Rob Fletcher managed two short sessions in the week on the water. The first produced a 29lb mirror and on the second, a 12 hour stint he caught three doubles, plus mirrors of 22lb and 19.02. Rob fished boilies on the bottom.
HUNTS CORNER LAKE
Simon Mansbridge reports catching six carp – 26.06, 24.08, 22.08, 18.00, 15.12 and 11.00. This was Simon’s first visit to the water and he went home a very happy man.
Teacher, Ben Phillips from Abingdon caught a PB common on the zig rig. the fish weighed 22.06
Fifteen year old Ben Jenkins who is spending time at Linear on work experience caught two carp off the surface – a 19.02 mirror and a PB common of 28.04. This was Ben’s first visit to the water.
