Jonathan Bones from Total Carp Magazine caught a 34lb [unamed mirror] from the water at the weekend. The mirror, along with another of 17.08, was caught on Fusion Boilies fished on a gravel patch at 40 yards range. This fish, a new thirty for the water, was previously caught in May of this year by Lea Collins – weighing 30.01.
Fishing with Rapido Boilies as hook baits and spodding chopped Rapido Boilies to a 60 yard point, Bryan Jarrett from Hinders Tackle at Swindon caught three mirrors of 23.08, 22.06 and 16.04.
ST JOHNS LAKE
Frank Warwick is on the water with Simon Crow to do a winter feature for the Crafty Carper Magazine. So far Frank has landed five carp and dropped two. Four of the fish were twenties. Frank is fishing with his own Fluro Pop- ups and maggots.
OXLEASE LAKE Mark Brydon from Banbury fished single Richworth Tuti-Fruti po-ups at 40 yards to catch three mirrors – the best of which was 26.06. Mark Bowden from Salford, Manchester fished at 30 yards with maggots to catch 14 carp to 15lb. His pal, yet another Mark – Mark Herrick also fished maggots to catch a mirror of 23.04.
