The Little Book of Fishing is a cheap and cheerful A to Z of angling, answering such questions as, ‘Which way do pike’s teeth face’? ‘How big is the largest carp’? And ‘Can flatfish see with both eyes’?

It’s a book for both anglers and those non anglers who want to know more about what makes both fish and fishermen tick.

The book is far from being an intellectual read and can’t hope to be the angler’s oracle, but it does seek to answer a few of those curious little puzzles that crop up from time to time, especially when in the company of non anglers.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT

Definitely a book with a difference and one that will just fill that corner of someone’s stocking this Christmas, and at a price that won’t break the bank.
