The Mighty Zambezi – 20 – 28 October 2007This brand new Guide Dogs event is an absolute gem of a trip – featuring big white water, spectacular African scenery and warm sunny weather! The Zambezi river is considered home to some of the best white water in the world. One of the many highlights is bobbing around at the base of the magnificent Victoria Falls – definitely one of the more dramatic places on this planet to begin a river adventure. The following days are spent challenging some of the most awesome rapids with names like ‘Oblivion’ and ‘Stairway to Heaven’ while nights involve wild camping on expansive beaches of white sand, gin and tonic in hand, listening to the noises of wild Africa. Unlike many rafting trips on the Zambezi, this one takes in grade 5 white water rapids every day for a week, and descends so far down the river that it takes a helicopter to get you out again. Only about a hundred people go so far down from the falls each year. Demand for this challenge has been extremely high and we now have just 10 places remaining, so act now to secure your place! For more information on how to join us on this once in a lifetime challenge, please contact Lynsay, Denise or Kathryn on 0845 600 6787 or complete the online request form. |
